2011 IBM AIX Subject Matter Expert and Customer Liason

In late 2010 I have rejoined IBM, namely IBM Switzerland to represent them to a major client in the Lausanne area.

The role superficially resembles the traditional IBM Systems Engineering role but in fact has some more important differences.  In short:

AIX Subject matter expert to customer

Participate in high level and low level Systems Architecture, Design and Implementation for a number of key products including:

AIX 6.X, 7.x

Power 7 and beyond

Systems Director,  AIX Workload Partitions

Power HA migration

Advanced Virtualisation and the move away from HMC CSM to newer technologies

Provide an in depth link for customer L3 problems into the AIX or other development labs as necessary.  From PMR, to RETAIN, to Critsit, to DCR.  To GSA, to eHone, to  ePADM, eConfig, QuickR, ASO, CCSP etcetera. Whatever assistance the customer needs in order to make IBMs technology work best for them

Write Professional documentation to cover all of the above

Assist the customer wherever possible in their automation coding activities which so far are able to deploy and automagically install IBM Power 5/6/7  AIX systems into LPARS and Virtual LPARs.  The current code base approaches 1000 kloc.
