Protecting your Resume

Summary

Often you need to send your resume or other sensitive documents out in the email but you want to restrict the ability for your document to be freely copied, manipulated or generally ripped off.

Making your document un -editable

This means the user can load up the document read only but cant modify or select any text for copying. 

  • Create your Document

  • Save a copy under a diferent name

 

  • Reopen the new document and display the forms toolbar (View, Toolbars, Forms)

  • With cursor positioned at document end , press the ab buton and a grey form appears

  • Double click on the grey square and uncheck the fill in tickbox, then press OK

  • Press the a in a box button and the grey box wil "disappear" i.e. become unshaded
  • You can now close the forms box
  • Now goto Tools, Protect Document and change editing restrictions to Filling in Forms

  • Press the "Yes, Start Enforcing Proctection" button and enter a password that you will remember

  • And now you are done.  Try modifying of copying part of your document,  you can't! it is truely wonderful.
